The Guard is a comedic, fish-out-of-water tale of murder, blackmail, drug trafficking and rural police corruption, and the two cops who must join forces to take on an international drug-smuggling gang, an unorthodox Irish policeman and a straitlaced FBI agent.(Sony Picture Classics)
It was fine and quite funny but it was all a little too random and ill defined. Scenes were self-consciously set in places to be cool looking and came across as odd. The 50's diner or the diving platform but most clearly the aquarium where I could almost hear the writer/director's thought process at work.
