On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary and Mary from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets' former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate. (Walt Disney Pictures)

I watched the show in the seventies but can't remember too much about it now. I enjoyed the The Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island although Muppets from Space the last film before this one I've never seen although I think it was on TV just a couple days ago but I didn't bother to do anything about it, don't know why really. The first few movies I can't remember what I though of them.
It was a combination of enjoyable (mostly the songs) and dull. Perhaps it's only for very small children in which case it's too long but the story was just overly simple. Two things which surprised me were how few Muppets there were, I seem to remember the other films and the show having what seemed like more than a hundred Muppets in lots of scenes but this seemed to only have a little more than a dozen plus the fur on Fozzie looked ancient.

Enjoyed it a lot but was hoping for something more thrilling both in terms of story and action. Hopefully she'll  be offered more good movies and choose to do them because this could be the start of something great and not before time. I often wonder if Sigourney Weaver had been happy to do action movies and had been offered and said yes to Die Hard how that would have played out.
